What Sievum is
Sievum generates a personalized news brief from topics you choose. Briefs are assembled by automated systems: a retrieval model gathers current sources, and a language model writes them up.
Accuracy — please read this one
Briefs are machine-generated and may contain errors, omissions, or mischaracterizations. We link the sources a brief drew on so you can check anything that matters. Sievum is a starting point for your own reading, not a system of record. Do not rely on a brief for financial, legal, medical, or safety-critical decisions without verifying it against the underlying sources.
We do not control what our retrieval provider surfaces and do not endorse any linked source.
Your account
You need an account to use Sievum. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised. You must be at least 13 years old.
Plans and payment
New accounts start on a free trial of 7 briefs, at up to one brief per day. Paid plans are Plus ($1.99/mo) and Insider ($4.99/mo), billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renewing automatically until cancelled.
Cancel at any time from your settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then. We do not automatically refund partial months, but if something has gone wrong, write to us and we will deal with it fairly.
We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice to active subscribers. Continuing to subscribe after that means accepting the new price.
Acceptable use
Don’t:
- Resell, redistribute, or publish briefs as your own product.
- Attempt to circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or billing — including by registering multiple accounts to obtain extra free briefs.
- Probe, scrape, or attack the service, or use it to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights.
- Use topic queries intended to generate material that is illegal or that targets or harasses a person.
Briefs are for your own use. Quoting a brief privately is fine; republishing it is not.
Your content
Your topics remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store them, send them to our retrieval provider, and generate briefs from the results.
Availability
We aim to deliver a brief every day you are entitled to one, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Generation depends on third-party providers that can fail or change. If a brief fails to generate, it does not count against your allowance.
Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, topics, and briefs are removed, and any subscription is cancelled. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or that is being used in a way that endangers the service or other users. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why first.
Disclaimers and liability
Sievum is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind to the extent the law permits. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions taken on the basis of a brief. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email to active accounts before taking effect, and the date above will be updated.
